Energopolis

In Łódź, on the premises of the former EC1 power plant, between the streets Tuwima, Targowa, Kilińskiego and the railway tracks of Fabryczna railway station, the Łódź Science Centre – Energopolis will soon be created. It will be the first interactive science education centre for children and adults in Poland.
The historical buildings of the old power station together with their surroundings will be incorporated in the Enegropolis forming the largest exhibition in the world dedicated to energy in general. The elements of the exhibition are: Science Centre, Science Garden, Technology Mega Museum, and a Historical Theme Park. The most important part of the Centre will be, just as in all such centres in the world, a permanent exhibition comprising interactive devices which
enable the viewers to independently perform experiments, observe and research certain physical phenomena, chemical reactions or biological structures.
This exhibition will be supplemented with temporary exhibitions prepared by the Centre’s research team or obtained from foreign centres on a lease or exchange basis.
Energopolis has goals to attain in three important areas: to disseminate knowledge, education and development and to promote Łódź.
The nearby Fabryczna railway station will help to bring audiences from all over the country which will make Energopolis one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Poland.
The author of the programme concepts is Marek Pisarski – a consultant in the educational entertainment sector.
